R+L Global Logistics is seeking a Purchasing and Facilities Clerk to join our growing supply chain and logistics team. The Purchasing and Facilities Clerk will work with our asset and non-asset/brokerage companies handling routine day-to-day and critical purchasing and facility activities.

Purchasing and Facilities Clerk Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Receive and process purchase and facility requests, obtain quotes following existing standards
  • Negotiate with vendors for goods and services acquiring the best prices, quality, and service
  • Collaborate with Corporate Purchasing Department on item pricing
  • Obtain approvals to purchase following existing standards
  • Issue purchase orders for approved orders/items; Enter requisitions into our internal iReq system
  • Track the status of requisitions, contracts, orders, facility repairs and maintenance
  • Develop new supply sources and maintain ongoing record of those sources
  • Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files, reports, tracking and inventory, and price lists
  • Coordinate and schedule preventative and emergency facility maintenance for multiple company locations
  • Review new contracts, submit to legal department for review, and follow existing standards for approval and signature
  • Act as contract custodian, including leases/subleases, ensure that all are fully executed, and tracked
  • Act as title custodian for heavy equipment, includes tracking
  • Schedule review of leases/contracts approaching termination or extension dates
  • Coordinate and manage facility moves including facilitating meetings with department heads on status and action items
  • Develop, recommend, and implement process and procedural updates

Purchasing and Facilities Clerk Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be proficient in data entry functions
  • Must be organized, have keen attention to detail, and be accurate
  • Must have good communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks within specified timeframe
  • Knowledge of TL, LTL, Import/Export, Customs, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes a plus

Purchasing and Facilities Clerk Qualifications

Summary of Purchasing and Facilities Coordinator Experience and Education: 

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • Two years previous  procurement, purchasing and facilities experience preferred
  • Previous logistics, transportation, domestic or international a plus but not required
