R+L Global Logistics are seeking a motivated, energetic Cash Application Clerk to join our growing logistics company.   The Cash Application Clerk position will be responsible for timely and accurately preparing deposits and posting cash as part of our Finance and Accounting Team. 

Cash Application Clerk Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Support several companies with multiple bank accounts and various accounting systems by:

  • Preparing deposits
  • Ensuring money is deposited into the bank timely and accurately
  • Applying all monies to customer accounts timely and accurately
  • Posting all miscellaneous receipts
  • Recording bank returns, supported by internal communication as required
  • Saving all required documents in electronic form
  • Communicating effectively with internal and external business partners regarding acceptable methods of payment, proper remittance instructions, correct payee names, and payment mailing addresses when applicable
  • Answering and directing telephone calls, and email correspondence to our customers
  • Fostering strong and positive communication between external and internal customers
  • Assisting with data entry, processing, preparation, and reconciliation of paperwork and invoices
  • Assisting with receiving and distribution of incoming and outgoing mail
  • Other duties as assigned to include faxing, scanning, copying, mailing, requesting documents

Cash Application Clerk Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-starter, strong sense of ownership, gets things done
  • Highly organized with ability to plan daily, weekly and monthly priorities
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and follow up skills
  • Commitment to customer service and professionalism
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks within specified timeframes
  • Ability to work independently while supporting an overall team mentality
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently

Summary of Cash Application Clerk Experience and Education 

  • High school Diploma or GED required
  • 2+ years previous office administration experience
  • Previous experience in transportation or trucking industry a plus
  • Previous experience with deposits, cash application and posting highly preferred
  • Previous experience supporting multiple companies concurrently a plus
