R+L Global Logistics is seeking an Administrative Assistant to join our growing logistics company.  The Administrative Assistant will lend direct support for both our brokerage and asset based divisions. This position involves high phone volume, customer account maintenance, resolving internal and external customer issues, providing customers with truckload pricing and freight management information, along with analyzing, tracking, tracing, and correcting freight billing.

Administrative Assistant Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Answering and directing telephone calls, and email correspondence to our customers and partner carrier network
  • Receiving and distributing incoming mail and bills of lading
    Develop, implement, and maintain strong customer relationships with our carriers
  • Data entry, processing, preparation, and reconciliation of paperwork, invoices, and bills, AP/AR
  • Fostering strong and positive communication between external and internal customers
  • Coordination, audit, and implementation of new and existing partner carriers
  • Scanning, Imaging, and following up on bills of lading

Administrative Assistant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to effectively communication both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to answer and route multiple calls while staying on task
  • Ability to investigate customer concerns and solve them in a timely manner
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary internal and external customer service
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Administrative Assistant Qualifications

Summary of Administrative Assistant Experience and Education 

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Excellent computer skills including all Microsoft Office products
  • 2+ years experience in an Administrative/Customer Service role
  • Previous switchboard or call center experience a plus
  • Previous logistics or transportation experience a plus
