AFC International, LLC is seeking a C-TPAT Consultant to advise customers on best practices regarding Supply Chain Security

Summary of Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Meet with new or existing customers about C-TPAT Consulting Services
  • Analyze and review customer's supply chain processes to identify safety gaps, access controls, manifest procedures
  • Determine and present the best way to implement C-TPAT Certified practices
  • Assist customers with the C-TPAT application process
  • Develop customized solutions and processes to exceed customer's needs including writing cargo security procedures and protocols
  • Build and leverage relationships with participating government agencies such as FDA, USDA, CSPC etc.
  • Act as the subject matter expert and clients representative throughout the onboarding process
  • Increase service offerings through business development and prospecting potential clients
  • Implementation and training of any customs software or updates to any compliance systems

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The ability to communicate clearly and persuasively via email, verbally, and in presentations, tailoring your messaging to the appropriate level of audience
  • Inbound transportation and/or customs brokerage experience a plus
  • Ability to meet with customers and speak to processes regarding importing parts or finished products and warehousing and transportation security needs to final US destination
  • In depth understanding of Tariff Classifications and Country of Origin
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage deadlines and prioritize workload, and make adjustments to meet business needs
  • Manages complex transactional or emotional customer situations promptly and professionally meeting commitments for service and assistance
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in easy-to-understand terminology
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to travel to meet the demands of training and customer expectations


Summary of Experience and Education 

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of study preferred or equivalent in work experience
  • Practicing U.S.  Customs Broker License Required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of Customs regulations, Customs clearance, and Customs brokerage
  • Proficient in Cargowise Software System
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
